Owners
of the 34-story Plaza Towers Hotel – Condo – Apartment
complex in downtown Grand Rapids Michigan decided
the second time around to do it correctly. They found out they could have a very high quality facility-automation
system, a cost-effective installation, very aggressive energy
management strategies and highly accurate energy sub-metering
all in one system.
The TAC Vista system
installed by Grand Valley Automation has provided
the owner with a very
cost effective
and flexible Facility Automation
System. This system manages a 200-hp variable pumping cooling
tower water system, 285 ton chilled water system and a steam
heating
system for all of the main mechanical systems in the 34-story
facility.
The TAC Vista Building
Management software gives the building engineer
immediate and easy to
use information about
the operation
on their
mechanical HVAC systems. They use color graphics, status reports,
data logs, energy logs, alarms, and plot windows to tightly
manage the systems and energy demands in all areas of this
facility.
The TAC Vista facility
management software manages all data collected to provide concise data
log reports, energy
sub metering
reports,
and instantaneous status reports of the facilities HVAC systems.
Steam energy costs are calculated for each tenant and documented
in a monthly report to the owners. |
